Curiously Everywhere
Saturday Morning Cartoon Kids, finish this sentence/song: “Whatever it is I think I see….”
These days, everywhere I look I’m seeing two things vibing off each other. Dignity and Wonder.
Ari Weinzweig’s Six Elements of Dignity:
1. Honor the essential humanity of everyone we work with.
2. Be authentic in our interactions (w/out acting out).
3. Make sure everyone has a meaningful say.
4. Begin every interaction with positive beliefs.
5. Commit to helping everyone get to greatness.
6. Create an effective application of equity.
Listen to Ari unpack these here.
I've been following along with Kevin Rains posting on psychological safety. I wonder if Ari's Six Elements might be practical ways to create that safety within teams.
I’m re-listening to The Big Leap and Gay Hendricks talks about wonder being a sense of curiosity that leads to “amazed appreciation.”
Multiple times this week, I experienced my own curiosity turning into amazed appreciation and ultimately dignity. That wonderful cycle unlocks new ways of being together. Which generates more curiosity, appreciation, and dignity.
And Tootsie Roll whales.
